There are people who vote against gay marriage, people hate those people, and that those people are forced to live second-class citizen lives by being blacklisted and outcasted?
Which right is more sacrosact in America, the right to free expression and peaceable assembly, or the right to have government sanctify a particular relationship with the word 'family' or 'marriage.' If one is in favor of ever more sexual and commercial liberalization at the cost of increasing political repression then I suppose it would be the latter. Bring on the gladators and carnivals filled with breadcarts and public executions! We have no fear of becoming Orwell's 1984; while instead, the intoxication of pleasure has lulled us into Huxley's Brave New World.

I don't know about you but I am so tired of all things prop 8! Living here in Utah that is all I hear about on the news at night. Protest in front of Temples and church headquarters. For a people asking for tolerance they are not acting like so. The "Mormons" are not the only church in the world that does not believe in homosexuality, if you believe in the Bible you also don't. Plus the people of California voted against gay marriage... TWICE, maybe they should drop it for a few years, or at least until "old people" die, since they were the majority that voted against it, oh yea, along with minorities. Sorry Joe my post is so long.. I am just tired of prop 8. also, this is not towards you.
No need to apologize. I also wish the problem would just go away as well, but I'll fight for it as long as it's an issue.
Of course fight it, I just think once you vote on something it should not be an issue anymore. The people of California voted, therefor it should not be an issue.
Tell that to the tiny minority of supremist who think they can overturn 60%+ of the people's will when they struck down Prop 22. Just imagine the outcry if the reverse was true: California voting for a protection of gay marriage and a couple of judges striking the law down. And where is the ACLU when it comes to freedom of peacable assembly, expression, and religion in the case of the Mormons who are being fired from their jobs because of their vote in a democratic process? That's why the ACLU is only for liberties they see fit; The others they repress.
